Playing with Overlapping Color

This week I tried to focus more on specific areas of these "Atlantic Flyer" scans that I have been playing around with. I hit a roadblock with creating full collages, so I tried to just simplify the process this week and just focus on the overlap/overlay of one scan. I have been playing around with the overlay of color in my sketchbook by sketching with highlighters, so I tried to channel that thought process into digital collage.

  1. flying, the word, its many senses and associations.
to "take wing," leave the nest.
Fear of Flying (Eric Jong's 1973 book).
    clouds drift (fly slowly).
    birds fly.
wires in sky (telephone etc, catenary curves) are a kind of drawing in the sky.
    skywriting.
some of your gestural drawings (not seen yet in seminar), clouds etc, which are something that means a lot to you, might be brought into the picture.
it's often the case, that a small even tiny detail of a larger drawing or picture, is a strong point, something worth pumping up (size-wise), working with, perhaps in combination with another kind of element (e.g., text, type, graphic mark or icon)...

will give all of this more thought.
