I went home this weekend to grab a couple things and ended up finding some old postcards and magazine pages from my family. The postcards came from my grandparents and uncle (dad's side), while the magazine pages came from my grandfather (mom's side). Also decided to scan some pages of the Beatles book in the seminar room, because my grandmother tried to steal a guitar from them in Liverpool. I wanted to make something with them because that felt right to do; sometimes just making things with what I have leads me to new conclusions I would not have reached had I not tried creating in the first place. I found myself looking at these memories in a different light and forming connections between them through my juxtaposition of elements.
