are there ways to develop the abstractions beyond Photoshop functions? (not sure these are a full expression of the "first thought second thought" idea.
see Frank Lloyd Wright, Nature Pattern Blocks (one image here); these (and the box and instructive drawings) are in the Seminar room (in a gray archival box labeled blocks above where your worktable used to be). (if label has fallen off, it is in a box that is slightly deformed my water/moisture damage.) These blocks, which allow the child to explore different stages of abstraction from natural forms, are very much consistent with some of your earlier abstractions involving rectangular forms.
